Shadowplay Studios is a small indie games team based in Australia. Our aim is to create games with innovative mechanics and unique experiences.
Shadowplay Studios flagship title Projection started development in 2015. The idea came about when I had fun making shadows on walls from a low hanging ceiling light. During Global Game Jam 2016 I made an early prototype which many developers showed interest in. Our new team then looked for inspiration for drawing shadow puppets. At the time the game was developed in game maker. Without a lead programmer, the game suffered technical limitations (shadows could only be drawn on square objects and there could only be 1 light source. The game was remade again in 2016 using the Unity engine with a new programming team onboard.
